Resting Heart Rate
Resting heart rate is the function of the heart during
a state of rest (not exercising). It is measured in beats per minute and
the less your heart beats the more efficient (larger stroke volume) it is.
Resting heart rate is due to genetic and physical conditioning factors. Cardiovascular
exercise is the primary component of training the heart.
