Accepting/Declining your Financial Aid Awards
Accept Your Loans
All funds that do not require repayment, such as scholarships and grants, will be automatically provided. Any federal loans will be considered accepted after you complete the required Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note. This is done from the Direct Lending site using your FAFSA Pin as your online signature.
Unless declined, these funds will reflect as "pending financial aid" from your first semester billing in July. We disburse the financial aid after the start of classes each semester and then it will go from "pending financial aid" to actually credit the account. Your financial aid will only disburse at that time if you have completed the MPN and Entrance Counseling and if selected for Verification have a completed audit. It is important to attend to the requirements for Verification as soon as you accept admittance because completion of the review can take up to 4-weeks.
Decline Your Loans
You can decline your loans through your mybluehenhome account or if you want to wait to decline your loans after you receive your actual first bill and final package, you will be provided instructions on how to do this in your New Student Orientation packet.
Requests to reduce the loan amount or decline only a single semester can be done in July when a student has access to their UDSIS account. From this site, Student Self Service go to the Accept/Decline Awards option. Each loan award can be Accepted, Reduced or Declined. Awards can be reinstated for a semester by emailing your request to firstname.lastname@example.org
