FIT Visiting Student Program

The visiting student program is a cooperative arrangement between the University of Delaware (UD) and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) that permits students to attend FIT for one year without the necessity to transfer. Courses taken at FIT are applied towards the Bachelors of Science degree in Fashion Merchandising or Apparel Design at the University of Delaware. Students who successfully complete the prescribed courses at both institutions qualify for an Associate's degree from FIT and a Bachelor's degree from UD.

These FIT options give students an opportunity to broaden their educational backgrounds and to gain additional knowledge about the fashion industry in the largest fashion center in the USA.

Early advisement and planning for the FIT Visiting Student program are required. Student must inform their Fashion and Apparel Studies academic advisors of their intent to participate in the FIT Visiting Student program by providing advisors with written notification during the freshmen year.
