Internships
Undergraduate students in the department are very active in acquiring internships with nationally and internationally recognized fashion companies in New York City and other areas in the north eastern region of the United States. Students are involved in a broad range of areas in the fashion industry including positions in design, product development, buying, retailing, public relations, fashion publications and media, and visual merchandising, Internships during the summer and winter sessions offer students unique field experiences with direct learning from industry professionals and valuable networking opportunities. Students commonly complete internships with two or more companies prior to graduation and are able to build competitive resumes based on their industry experience.
The department provides support for acquiring internship positions through the Bank of America Career Services Center, fashion job fair events, and on-campus visits by industry professionals and recruiters, and an active network of enthusiastic alums. An internship course is offered to provide support for companies and students. For questions concerning the fashion internship course, view the FAQ page.
