Dr. Marsha Dickson (Professor and Chairperson, Department of Fashion and Apparel Studies, University of Delaware) is internationally known for her research and teaching on socially responsible practices in the apparel industry and has been awarded Apparel Magazine's All-Star Award and the International Textile and Apparel Association's Distinguished Scholar Award for that work. Her research has been conducted in several countries, including China, Guatemala, India, Thailand, and Vietnam. She is founder and President of an international consortium of Educators for Socially Responsible Apparel Business.Dickson is also a member of the board of directors of the Fair Labor Association, a non-governmental organization originally formed by President Clinton to address labor standards and working conditions in the apparel industry. |

Dr. Huantian Cao (Associate Professor, Department of Fashion and Apparel Studies, University of Delaware) has research interests in protective clothing for agricultural, industrial, homeland security, and military applications, and sustainable design and development in textiles and related areas, including sustainable apparel, interior, and housing design. He co-directs UD Sustainable Apparel Initiative (UDSAI), which has published guidelines to help brands and retailers become more environmentally sustainable. He developed a course on sustainability issues for designers and merchandisers and advised several student projects to participate in the EPA People, Prosperity, and the Planet Student Design Competition for Sustainability (P3 Award). His research has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals including Textile Research Journal, American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Dyes and Pigments, International Journal of Clothing Science and Technology, and others. |

Professor Kelly Cobb is a Philadelphia based designer and Instructor of Fashion and Apparel Studies at The University of Delaware, where she teaches CAD, Product Development and Management Studio and Creative Design Methods. In collaboration with her design students, Gildan Activewear, the Fair Labor Association, and the Instituto Politecnico Centroamericano in Honduras, Cobb carried out an "ethical fashion" project that demonstrated ground-up thinking about sustainability in the product development process. Cobb has designed functional prototypes for children’s sportswear and women’s RTW. As well, she has developed and coordinated sample production of surface designs for Couture and RTW markets. Cobb describes her approach to design and teaching as steeped in technique and compelled to innovate. She holds a BFA in Textiles from The Maryland Institute, College of Art and an MFA from The University of Florida. |

Dr. Molly Eckman (Associate Professor, Department of Design and Merchandising, Colorado State University) brings to her teaching and research insight gained from 10 years of corporate retailing experience. She has conducted research in Spain, Turkey, Indonesia, India, and Belize and served on Ph.D. students’ examination boards at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In addition, she collaborated to develop multicultural case studies through the CSU International Development Studies Enhancement project funded by the U.S. Department of Education, which was awarded a 2002-2003 Andrew Heiskell Award for Innovation in International Education. |

Mr. Doug Cahn (Supplemental Faculty, Department of Fashion and Apparel Studies, University of Delaware) is principal of The Cahn Group, LLC. Mr. Cahn has been a corporate responsibility and public policy executive for nearly 30 years. During that time, he has implemented corporate programs that address supply chain labor standards, human rights, environment, government relations, community relations, advocacy and communications. He is a pioneer in applying corporate codes of conduct to factories owned and operated by third parties in Asia, Central America and Eastern Europe. He currently serves as a member of the Board of the Fair Factories Clearinghouse, a member of the Board of Verité and a member of the advisory board of GoodWeave. |
