MINUTES

 

 

 

 

I.                    Old Business:         

 

a.       Multicultural Reviews – Postponed until the next meeting

b.      Discussion of Proposals 1 and 2 from Dr. Paul Laux – Approved unanimously

 

II.                 New Business:

 

College of Agriculture and Natural Resources:

 

a.       Revision to the major in Animal Science (attachment) – Approved unanimously pending answers to questions concerning science content, for Food Science and clarity on wording “most vet schools in the US”  David Marshall will contact the department and report back to the committee.

 

b.       Revision to the major in Food, Business Management and Technology major  (attachment) – Approved unanimously with suggestion concerning FREC 135.  David Marshall will make suggestion to the department and get the credit count fixed.  He will report back to the committee.

 

c.       Revision to the major in Agricultural Education (attachment) – Approved unanimously provided they get permission from Chair of Communication for COMM 212 and edit FREC135.  David Marshall will contact the department and report back to the committee.

 

d.      Revision to the major in Statistics (attachment) – Approved unanimously with suggestions concerning FREC135 as a pre-req., and questions concerning MATH302: Why are they dropping it?  COMM312 needs permission letter and should be renumbered to 212.  David Marshall will contact the department and report back to the committee. 

 

e.       Revision to the major in Resource Economics to add a concentration

(attachment) -  Approved unanimously with one editorial change to the proposal.  Karren Helsel-Spry will edit the proposal from COMM312 to COMM212.

 

College of Health Sciences:

 

a.       Revision to a minor in Strength and Conditioning (attachment) – Approved unanimously provided they submit the credit listing and total count.

 

b.      Revision to the major in Athletic Training (attachment) – Tabled.  The committee would like the department to find an alternative course to the ethics class.  Deleting an ethics course is not an option (Gen Ed Goal#4).

 

c.       Revision to the major in Health Behavior Science (attachment) – Approved unanimously.

 

d.      Revision to the minor in Coaching Science (attachment) – Approved unanimously provided they submit the credit listing and total credit count.

 

e.       Creation of an Honors Degree in Sport Management (attachment) – Approved unanimously with the suggestion that they add a side by side comparison of the old and the new program and delete the syllabus.

 

f.        Revision to the concentration: Biomechanics and Motor Control Concentration (attachment) – Did not have time to review, will appear on the January 17th agenda

 

g.       Revision to the majors in Applied  Nutrition, Dietetics and Nutritional Sciences (attachment) - Did not have time to review, will appear on the January 17th agenda

 

h.       Revise Health and Fitness Concentration for nutrition majors (attachment) - Did not have time to review, will appear on the January 17th agenda

 

i.         Revision to the major in Health and Physical Education (attachment) - Did not have time to review, will appear on the January 17th agenda

 

j.        Revision to the major (BSN) in Nursing (attachment) - Did not have time to review, will appear on the January 17th agenda
