Proposal to Faculty Senate Concerning Changes to Faculty Handbook, Section III

Whereas the University Committee on Promotion and Tenure (Committee) has become aware of deficiencies in Section III (Personnel Policies) of the Faculty Handbook, and

Whereas the Committee has discussed these deficiencies and possible remedies for more than a year, and

Whereas the Committee has discussed the proposed changes to the Handbook with the Provost and Associate Provost, and

Whereas the Committee has discussed the proposed changes to the Handbook with the

Executive Committee of the University Faculty Senate, be if therefore

Resolved that changes be made to Section III of the Faculty Handbook. These changes

are specified and justified in the attachment.
