a. Rationale
for creation, revision, or deletion:
The Graduate Program in Energy and Environmental Policy has completed
its 3-year probationary period
And the External Review Committee, convened by the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Programs and Planning, unanimously recommended in its June 2002 report that the ENEP Program should be made a permanent offering of the University of Delaware. The Dean of the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy also recommended that permanent status be granted in his memo of January 3, 2003 to the Vice Provost for Academic Programs and Planning.
b. Summary
of program:
The ENEP Program grants a master’s degree (MEEP) and
a Ph.D. The Provost requested the creation of the program based on the success
of the specializations supported for 12 years by the Center for Energy and
Environmental Policy in the Urban Affairs and Public Policy degree programs (MA
and Ph.D.). The program is an intercollegiate offering co-sponsored by the
Colleges of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Arts and Science, Engineering,
Human Services, Education and Public Policy and Marine Studies. Student and
administrative support for the ENEP Program is provided by the Center for
Energy and Environmental Policy. The program director reports to the Dean of
the College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy.
