Introduction to Science & Engineering of Polymer Systems

Narrative:

Course provides an understanding of the science and engineering of macromolecules from a structure/property perspective. Topics include polymerization, chain structure configuration, polymer size, shape, phase separation behavior, amorphous and crystalline state, glass-rubber transition, cross linking/rubber elasticity, viscoelasticity, rheology and mechanical behavior.

Justify the need to initiate this course.
The experimental course (MSEG 667-011) was offered three consecutive years.
