Addition of Biochemical Engineering minor within the Chemical Engineering

Department;

Whereas over the past decade, Chemical Engineers and other chemical

professionals have expanded their interests into Biochemistry and the life

sciences, and

Whereas establishing of a minor in Biochemical Engineering would allow

students interested in these areas to further focus their studies to more

effectively participate in the advancement of interdisciplinary

biotechnology initiatives on campus and beyond, and to identify their

expertise more clearly for the purposes of employment and post-graduate

study, be it therefore

Resolved that a minor in Biochemical Engineering be established in the

Department of Chemical Engineering to accommodate all majors in the

sciences and engineering.
