Resolution for degree change to
Master of Arts in Counseling in Higher Education
Whereas the current program for the Master of Education in College Counseling and Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education has been administered in the Department of Individual and Family Studies since 1998, and
Whereas the curriculum and other
degree requirements will remain the same under the proposed new degree of
Master of Arts and proposed re-titled major of Counseling in Higher Education,
and
Whereas the proposed new degree title and new major title will provide more clarity and consistency between the curriculum content and degree awarded, and
Whereas the Department of Individual
and Family Studies, the School of Education, and the College of Human Services,
Education and Public Policy all support the proposed change in degree and
change in the title of the major, be it therefore
Resolved that the
current Master of Education in College Counseling and Student Affairs Practice
in Higher Education be changed to Master of Arts in Counseling in Higher
Education.
