Undergraduate/Graduate Committee by November in order to reach the Faculty Senate

a. Rationale for
creation, revision, or deletion:
We request that the the Southern Delaware Regular and Special Education
Elementary Teacher Education Program be given permanent status as an option
within the Elementary Teacher Education program. Although the requirements for this program
are the same as the Elementary Teacher Education program, the courses are
offered differently. Four years
experience with the program indicates that the program has been
successful. There is high demand for
admission into the program and high demand to hire graduates of the
program. Our assessment of the program
indicates that student outcomes, as measured by observational instruments
during student teaching, as well as by student work throughout the program, are
quite similar to the outcomes of the students in the traditional program on the
