Dean, College of Business and Economics

University of Delaware

Dear Dr. Ginzberg:

The Masters degree program in Information Technology Management that you are establishing in the college of Business and Economics is a very timely and much needed initiative for the University of Delaware. This educational program that bridges information and telecommunications technology with management tools will produce graduates with highly desirable skills.

I foresee a significant demand for this program within the engineering student population at UD and nationwide. Anecdotally, prospective UG engineering students, and their parents often ask me, if such program in information technology management exists at UD! I expect a strong demand for this program within the business student population as well. The success and raving student course evaluations we received last year in the course "Entrepreneurship and Risk Taking" jointly taught by engineering and business faculty, is an indicator of the strong demand of the proposed Masters program.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering strongly supports this crossdisciplinary program and our faculty in the networks and telecommunications area will enthusiastically collaborate with faculty in the business college in developing a top‑rated information technology management Masters program. We welcome the opportunity and we look forward to working with you in this exciting educational thrust.

Sincerely yours,

Gonzalo R. Arce
