a.  Rationale for creation, revision, or  deletion:

 

To meet the needs of a new faculty member, we are adding  Psyc 344, Psychology of Language to one of our core course categories, Cognitive Psychology.  This addition is the only  substantive change in the major/minor  requirements we  propose.   We also propose to change the name of Psyc 320 below from Behavioral Neuroscience to Introduction to Neuroscience.  This course, Psyc 320, has been approved by the Arts & Sciences Educational Affairs committee as a new course, effective 9/l/05.  We had anticipated approval of this new course in our previous curriculum proposal, approved last year, but the course had a different name (behavioral neuroscience).  The new major curriculum is below.
