To reiterate: what the proposed new minor does is to incorporate new Art History, English, French, and Nutrition courses (and one new History course) that reflect either new faculty to the University or new interests on the part of existing faculty.  Moreover, the proposed new minor allows students more flexibility in choosing their courses and removes the past emphasis on particular departments or faculty (reflecting the way things were when the minor was started in the early 1990s; things have changed markedly since then).  Our proposed new minor now looks very similar to African Studies minors and concentrations at most other universities.
