Permanent Program Approval for Landscape Horticulture and for Plant Biology

 

 

WHEREAS:  The major in Landscape Horticulture has been offered in

provisional status for five years, and

WHEREAS:   Over this period the major has attracted a considerable number of

students and become one of the largest majors in the Department of Plant and

Soil Sciences, and

WHEREAS:  The Department has been able to offer the required specialized

courses from its current faculty, and the graduates have been highly prized

in the job markets, be it therefore

RESOLVED:  that the major, B.S. in Landscape Horticulture is approved for

permanent status.

 

 

WHEREAS:  The major in Plant Biology has been offered in provisional status

for five years, and

WHEREAS:  The major has attracted a significant number of capable students

to this modern and advanced major, and

WHEREAS:  the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences has been hiring new

faculty, in cooperation with the Delaware Biotechnology Institute, who are

capable of teaching the courses appropriate for the major, and

WHEREAS:  the major is now a developed and innovative offering in an

expanding field of knowledge, be it therefore

RESOLVED:  that the major, B.S. in Plant Biology is approved for permanent

status.
