curriculum revisions:
The Department proposes adding ENWC 165 New Student Seminar (1 credit) as a requirement under Professional Studies .
List new courses required for
the new or revised curriculum:
(Be aware that approval
of the curriculum is dependent upon these courses successfully passing through
the Course Challenge list. If there are no new courses enter None) NONE

(List other departments affected by this new or revised
curriculum. Attach permission from the
affected units. If no other unit is
affected, enter None) NONE
Rationale:

Addition will guarantee that all first-year students have this freshman experience. It does so through classes and activities that acquaint students with various University services, academic skills, and potential career areas. The course has been strongly encouraged for all freshmen entomology majors in their first fall for over 10 years to enhance retention of students, and all have taken it in those years.
Program Requirements:
(Show the new or revised curriculum as it should appear in the
Course Catalog. If this is a revision,
be sure to indicate the changes being made to the present curriculum.)
DEGREE: BACHELOR OF SCIENCE
