The Department of Entomology and Applied Ecology has voted to change its name to Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology and requests your support.

The impetus for this change was a recommendation from our department advisory committee in May, 2002. A statement of rationale appears on the attached Academic Program Approval form. We believe this change will be very beneficial in improving our apparency to persons seeking the wildlife faculty for contract and service queries as well as to potential undergraduate and graduate students seeking academic programs in wildlife and ecology.

The department will appreciate your approval of this proposal and its forwarding to the Faculty Senate by November 15 for consideration by the appropriate committees.
