Delaware Scholarship Opportunities for Students Enrolled in ALA Accredited Master Degree Programs

Grace Estelle Wheeless Scholarship and the Helen H. Bennett Scholarship

The Delaware Library Association (DLA) awards the Grace Estelle Wheeless Scholarship and the Helen H. Bennett Scholarship. Applications and more detailed descriptions of scholarship eligibility are available on the DLA website, www.dla.lib.de.us, or from Steven Davis, Scholarship Committee Chair, Bear Library, 101 Governor’s Place, Bear, DE 19701. The Helen H. Bennett scholarship is intended to assist persons who plan to work in a school oriented library in Delaware and applicants for this scholarship must sign the attached addendum affirming their intent. The application deadline for these scholarships is March 1, 2007.

Library and Archivist Incentive Program

The Library and Archivist Incentive Program offers a loan to individuals who plan to work in a Delaware public library, public school library, government agency library or archive. The Higher Education Commission administers this program which provides funds for students, which the student must repay at the completion of the Master’s degree unless the student is employed in a Delaware public library, public school library, government agency library or archive. The application deadline is March 30, 2007.
