Conrado (Bobby)
Gempesaw has served as dean of the Lerner College of Business and
Economics at UD since July 1, 2006. Previously, he served as vice
provost for academic and international programs from 1999 to 2006.
He also served as interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences
in 2004-05. Dr. Gempesaw received his Ph.D. in agricultural economics
from Penn State University in 1985. He then joined the University
of Delaware as an assistant professor and served as chairperson of
the Department of Food and Resource Economics in the College of Agriculture
and Natural Resources from 1993-99. In 1995, he was given a joint
appointment as professor in the Department of Economics in the Lerner
College. In 1997, he taught at the Polish-American Summer School of
Economics in Poznan, Poland. In 1998, he was a visiting professor
at Ateneo de Davao University in the Philippines. He currently serves
on the Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM) Athletic Committee, St. Thomas
More Oratory Council and the Delaware Alliance for Excellence (DAE)
