Back to Berlin in the Future

Going to Berlin was a high priority for me on this trip. I had gone to Berlin twice in the 1970's. But in 1991 a lot happened in Germany, and I wanted to see a post-Wall Berlin.

I got off the train at the Berlin Hauptbahnhof and took the U-Bahn to Alexanderplatz, where a tourist service located a hotel for me. The Econtel-Mierendorff, at 99 DM a night. It was quite close to the Charlottenburg palace.

The Kurfürstendamm
I had some errands to do the next day in Berlin. First of all I wanted to confirm my August 3 one-way flight ticket from Frankfurt to Chicago. I had to go to the TWA office in a building close to the Wilhelmgedächtniskirche on the Kurfürstendamm. Memories of my trip here in 1973 with the Elkton High School group.
