Bicycling

On my last day in Beijing I rented a bicycle from the Qianmen Hotel and set out exploring the city. I saw these people motion to me when I was pointing my camera in their direction. I sat down at their table and they ordered me something to eat. Thousand-year-old eggs, my mediocre phrase book told me. The little girl belonged to the restaurant.
I looked all around the Bejing Train Station for a subway entrance. I naively thought that the characters for "subway" would be the same as they were in Japanese -- i.e. "chika tetsu (ground-under-iron). But Chinese uses some different kinds of characters for subway. I eventually found it. I sure hope the guy sleeping above the stairway doesn't walk in his sleep.
You have to hunt around to find an empty parking place for your bicycle. Then you have to buy a little parking ticket. This is across the street from the main train station.
