Morocco Teacher Trainer Profiles 2005

Abdellatif Laklida

Born in a small village in the suburbs of ElJadida, Laklida moved to Casablanca at the age of eight where he did his studies until 1987, when he graduated from Hassan II University, major english linguistics. He did his first year of postgraduate studies at Mohammed V University in Rabat (major: Linguistics), while working for an advertising company. In 1988, he entered the college of education in Rabat where he spent one year (major: teaching EFL). In 1989, he started working as a teacher of English in Marrakesh, then left for one year (1990-1991) to teach at the Math Sup high school, then back to the same school until 2003 when he has worked as teacher trainer at the teacher training college in Marrakesh ( Centre Pedagogique Regional). He is preparing his thesis on children` s development of arguing skills. His main interests are critical education, education on civic and moral values, and the development of civil society in Morocco and its relationship to social and economic development.
