Al-Karazoun,
Ghada Abdelmajid

I am Ghada Al - Karazoun, a teacher of English Language and Literature for the upper elementary level at UNRWA schools/ Russifieh Prep, Zarqa, Jordan. I I have been teaching there since the 2nd of November 2003. However, my teaching trip started in August 2001 in TerraScanta College that is located in Jabal-Al-Webdah, Amman, Jordan. I taught the 6th and 7th graders for two years.

The two jobs have had a positive and great influence upon my personality as well as my way of teaching. Actually, I was given the chance to attend different workshops and seminars about varied methods of teaching the four skills in English Language. Also, I directed many activities in Terra Scanta College. For example, I was responsible for the English club that involves different actions. I also taught additional extensive English courses for different ages. In UNRWA schools, the staff encourged me to continue my studying and now I am a student of Linguistics in Yarmouk University preparing for my thesis.

In fact, being at the University of Delaware is another clear and excellent piece of evidence that shows the non-stop generosity and kindness of my people. It's a valuable chance to be here in order to learn the NEW about the American culture in general and methods of teaching English, in particular.

I enjoy sharing with the teachers of Enlish language Institute my experience and learning from them too. Socially speaking, this program helps a lot to show part of our Jordanian features since we spend two weeks among wonderful host families. This also makes us see different beliefs and attitudes of the American culture.
