Susan earned a B.A. in History at Smith College and a M.Ed. in TESL at Notre Dame College of New Hampshire, both with Honors. In addition, she is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. From 1988-1998, she taught immigrant children in New Hampshire public schools. Since January, 2000, Susan has been teaching at the ELI, usually English for Academic Purposes. In addition, she serves as University Supervisor for UD graduate student in TESL and teaches in teacher training programs occasionally. She is an active member of TESOL and Penn-TESL, having served as officer and frequent presenter on topics relating to English for Academic Purposes or intercultural communication. .
