Lowell has been a faculty member of the ELI since 1982 with Masters degrees in both German and ESL. Hobbies include photography, reading non-fiction, travel (49 states and 24 countries), and playing keyboards, often performing in clubs and restaurants. From 1990 to 1992 he had a teaching assignment at Wakayama University in Wakayama, Japan. Currently Lowell is pursuing ESL research in Computer Assisted Learning and is developing programs to enhance our English learning environment. He is the author of the ELI Home Page on the World Wide Web.
