Application Procedures

Applicants who are outside of the United States and who need a J-1 visa:

  1. Download the printable IEP application or complete our online application.
  2. Submit the application by fax. Our fax number is (001) 302.831.6765.
  3. Submit the following documents by fax
    1. A copy of your passport
    2. A letter of sponsorship. The letter must show which items the sponsor will pay for (tuition, books, room and board, etc.) and it must clearly state whether the student will pay the bill and be reimbursed by the sponsor or if the ELI should send the bill directly to the sponsor. Application processing time: Once all documents have been received, we will process your application and send the DS-2019 form to you by express mail within 24 to 48 hours.
