Dear ELI graduate,

By now you have no doubt heard about the University of Delaware’s big Korean alumni reunion to be held Friday, October 16, at the Grand Hilton in Seoul. I do hope you will consider attending. Dr. Patrick Harker, Delaware’s current president, will be leading a delegation of senior administrators, including the deans of many major UD colleges (Engineering, Lerner College of Business, Arts and Science). President Harker will be sharing with those in attendance the exciting initiatives U. of Delaware is taking in the area of international education and beyond. In addition, Dr. Byong Man Ahn, Minister of Education, Science, and Technology will be the special guest speaker.

I am fortunate enough to be joining the delegation, and it would be my great honor to greet you at the event and learn of the exciting things that have happened in your life since graduating from the ELI. We are hoping to have a good turnout of ELI graduates, so this will be an excellent chance for you to re-connect with former ELI classmates. Won’t you please join us at this wonderful reunion event? To come, you must first register. There is a modest charge, but I am sure you will find the event to be worth your time. Please visit the following website to register: www.udconnection.com/korea

I also encourage you to visit the ELI website to learn of some of the exciting developments in our program: www.udel.edu/eli

Finally, we are nearly finished with the first draft of ELI’s annual Holiday Newsletter. It is not too late for you to share information about you (e.g., recent weddings, promotions, travels, babies) that we might publish. Please email our Editor-in-Chief, Professor Barbara Morris with news and pictures.

I look forward to to seeing you on October 16! Wishing you all the best,

Dr. Scott Stevens, ELI Director
