Congratulations to everyone; It´s been 4 years since I meet you. As a result of my excellent life experience at ELI, finally I finished my masters degree at ITESM with an interchange student program. But is more important to me that I meet my future wife Karina who studied there also.

Sincerely,
Thank you.

Hello Dr. Stevens:

How are you? I'm William Ruiz, I was a ELI student in the first session of this fall, i hope you remember me! I want to tell you that I'm working in my old job and my family and workpartners are so happy I'm back. When I came back to Colombia, I thought that I hadn't learned what i needed and I hadn't improved enough my skills in your language. But now i realize that i feel more confident when I write or speak in english, specially with my supliers companies located in USA and Europe or in daily activities like watching TV, going to the movies or listening music! That made me feel really good, because I know now that I made the best investment of my life.

I want to tell you I feel so grateful with you and all the ELI's staff, specially my teachers, June and Ross, they were amazing and very patient with me, Linda, Kelly and Dolly, always helpful, and Bert, my tutor, he was very important to me to understeand the american lifestyle. These two months in Newark, living in an american campus, have been the best time of my life and I have beautiful memories that I will never forget.

Being honest, I have to tell you before arriving to America, I thought americans were very selfish and rude, but I found a lot of warm and nice people, of all ages. They show me the commitment and love that you feel for your country, your values and traditions, and that's very important to me, because I realize there are similar feelings like friendship, respect, tolerance and love, that all we have, no matter the country where we come from. And I don't only learn about american culture or english language. I found a lot of wonderful friends from Chile, Venezuela, Japan, Brazil, Korea, China, Guinea, Colombia, and more... For that reason, I think in ELI like a microworld, "the little United Nations" someone once said, where people from around all the world live and share, learning not only a new language, but different cultures and customes. The best part of this it's we can participate in our classmates' culture and we can invite them to living some aspects of our culture. It's a life learning!

Dr. Stevens, i just want to say THANK YOU! I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for all the wonderful ELI' staff! I promise i'll keep in touch.

Regards,
William Ruiz

Hello Everybody,

I still remember the time that I was at E.L.I. I was a student from May 1996 to February 1997. I really enjoyed being there and miss everything soo much. Education, life, friendship, teachers, campus ... I can't list them one by one but .... there is no word to explain my feeling about them. I owe them the life that I am living now.

hope to hear from everybody.... best wishes,
a Turkish girl,
Ayla

I am one of the teachers who came for an English Training in October last year. I am married with an American citizen and I am living here in Newark now. People who have had the opportunity to learn English at ELI have had a very good experience and good memories of such a wonderful staff of professors and that owesome secretary you have "Dolly". I am very thankful for everything I learned and the great time I spent with my chilean colleagues there. Thanks to our coordinator Mr. Grant Wolf. And thanks to all my professors and specially to my neighbour Mr. Russ Mason who was very patient and he had always a good reception to our questions and doubts in his class.

Today I feel very happy, comfortable and confident with my english because of you and I want to express the wonderful experience that the new chilean group of teachers are having now. Thanks for your help and welcome to them, thanks to their new coordinator Susan Coakley who has been more than a coordinator a friend. I could see by myself all the efforts from ELI and the coordinator to make a pleasant stay for the chileans. once more THANK YOU. they sure will transmit all the experience about culture and knowledges they are learning to their students.

Sincerely,
Marleny Acuña (last year)

Dear Friends,

First of all I want to remind you about me. My name is Maria Constanza Diab. I am from Santa Fe, Argentina and I spent the best time of my life in the University of Delaware. That was in January 1998. I took an intensive English course for one month. It was a great, fantastic and unforgettable experience. Do you believe me if I tell you that every day in my life I remember something that I lived there. Suddenly it appears in my mind different situations and faces from there. I realize that I have a sort of obsession with your country. I don't know, but I remember being a little child and hoping travel to USA. I love your country and all what you made me live there contributed to make bigger this "love".

So again thank you very much. It is one of my deep dreams to travel again to USA.

Well, that is all for now. Send my regards for everyone and please keep in contact with me.

Love, Maria Constanza
