Online business course draws global clientele

The ELI’s online course, Effective Business Writing for English Language Learners, marked its second successful year in 2008. To date the course has been taken by a wide spectrum of students from a half dozen nationalities, some in their native countries and others working and residing throughout the United States. Developed and taught by ELI instructor Mary Beth Worrilow, the course meets the needs of intermediate and advanced English learners who require additional proficiency in business writing. Since the four-week, 30-hour course is given completely online, students can benefit from individualized writing instruction in their home or office, anywhere in the world. Successful graduates receive a certificate of completion from the University of Delaware. ELI alumni are eligible for a 15% discount on tuition, and corporations may register a group of employees at any time for a negotiated group rate.
