Laboratory Solid Waste Disposal Set-Up

Below is an example of how a laboratory should set up their normal solid waste containers and the containers that hold hazardous chemical waste. This communicates to Custodial Services which container they are to empty as well as designates which container lab personnel should place chemical waste versus solid waste.

Note: Lab Personnel must take the clean glass only boxes to the dumpster. The Solid Chemical Waste Container must be kept sealed and closed at all times unless actively adding waste and must be handled through DEHS.

Questions regarding the chemical waste program should be addressed to Michael Wayock or call 831-8288.
