Chemical Waste Management

The University of Delaware's Department of Environmental Health and Safety has developed a Chemical Waste Management Program to assure that proper handling and disposal procedures are used to protect the health and safety of the University community and to comply with federal and state regulations governing hazardous and solid waste management. Types of chemical waste generated at the University of Delaware include, but are not limited to, unwanted laboratory reagent chemicals; waste mixtures generated from laboratory research and education; glassware and trash contaminated with chemicals; chemical spill clean-up debris; oils; paints; maintenance cleaners; and pesticides.
