Select Agents
On June 12, 2002 the "Public Health Security and Bioterrorism
Preparedness Response Act of 2002" was signed. This regulation requires
that all persons possessing certain biological agents or toxins register
with either the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the United
States Department of Agriculture.
If anyone at the University of Delaware wishes to work with
any select agent, they must first contact the Department of Environmental Health & Safety regarding registration requirements.
