HOW TO TEST RADON LEVELS IN YOUR OWN HOME

Although the University is unable to conduct radon surveys in private homes, radon test kits are commonly found in most major hardware or home improvement stores. Homeowners can conduct their own radon assessment by following the instructions that are included with the test kit. Cost for a kit is generally in the $15-30 range. In addition, homeowners can hire professional radon measurement firms to conduct a survey. Contact your State Radon Contact to confirm that the firm is reputable and is registered or certified by the State.
