Course Descriptions and Information

  • Family and Friends CPR - The Family and Friends CPR Program teaches CPR and relief of choking in adults, children and infants.
  • This class is not routinely scheduled; please contact EHS to schedule a class.
  • Approximate course time: 2 1/2 hours.
  • Course Cost: $10.00
  • Typical Participants:
  • Just want to learn CPR
  • Middle school students

  • Heartsaver AED - The Heartsaver AED Course teaches CPR, AED use, and relief of choking in adults and children. The course also teaches CPR, and relief of choking for infants as well as use of barrier devices for all ages.
  • Approximate course time: 3 1/2 hours.

  • $12.00 less if you have the Current Heartsaver AED Book

  • Healthcare Provider - The Healthcare Provider Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation for healthcare professionals.
  • Approximate course time: 4 1/2 hours.

  • Course Cost: $40.00
  • $11.00 less if you have the Current Healthcare Provider Book and bring it to class. A barrier device is provided for the Healthcare Provider classes. These classes are $9.00 less if you bring a Pocket Mask to class.

  • Heartsaver First Aid - The Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes General Principles, Medical Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies. Optional topics include CPR and AED, and Environmental Emergencies.
  • Approximate course time: 7 1/2 hours

  • Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid - The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Topics include First Aid Basics, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, Environmental Emergencies, Optional First Aid Topics, and CPR and AED. This course is approved by Delacare.

  • Basic Life Support Instructor's Course - This course provides instructor candidates with the knowledge and skills necessary to teach Basic Life Support (BLS) courses for healthcare providers and lay rescuers.
  • This course requires you to have a current Healthcare Provider CPR Certification.
  • Approximate Course time: 8 hours

Use of American Heart Association materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the Association.

During a CPR/First Aid class, you will be working with manikins and sitting/kneeling on the floor. The room is often chilly as well. For your comfort, we recommend that all participants wear pants and short or long-sleeved shirts for the class.
