Professor Bob Hampel is an historian of education (Yale BA, Cornell PhD) who also studies contemporary educational policy. He is the Secretary/Treasurer of the national History of Education Society. In Delaware, Bob has been a Public Service Fellow for the Governor, a trustee of the Sanford School, and a consultant to the Department of Education. In 1995, he won the University’s highest award for excellence in teaching, and in 2009, he received the prize for outstanding mentoring of graduate students. He served as Interim Director of the School of Education from 1998 to 2000, and resumed that position in July 2010.
