Other Options for Certified or Post-Master’s Teachers

For information about courses of study in autism, elementary or secondary special education, see below. General information about enrolling in a course of study is available through the Delaware Center for Teacher Education.

Autism Certification via Course of Study

The 15-credit Autism Certification that is embedded in the master's program can also be obtained through continuing education as a course of study. Certified special education teachers are able to take these courses, and the Autism Certification can be attached to any Delaware special education teaching certification or may be used toward a 'plus 15' salary increment.

Elementary or Secondary Course of Study in Exceptional Children and Youth

Other courses embedded in the master's program can also be applied through continuing education to a post-master's elementary or special education Course of Study, which is approved for a 'plus 15' salary increment.

For information about earning a master's degree with or without certification, review the three program tracks within the M.Ed. in Exceptional Children & Youth to determine which option best matches your interests and background.
