Associate in Arts Degree Program

University of Delaware students can now complete an Associate in Arts Degree with a concentration in elementary teacher education on our Georgetown campus. This two year degree focuses on courses geared towards students interested in working in elementary education. Courses include core University of Delaware courses in English, science, social science, and fine arts, as well as beginning level education courses. This program offers small class sizes with a small faculty dedicated to each student being successful and preparing them for the field of education.

Students enrolling in this program are eligible for the Delaware Student Excellence Equals Degree Scholarship Program (S.E.E.D.) that provides tuition for Delaware residents who are full-time students. For more information on the S.E.E.D. Scholarship program go to seedscholarship.delaware.gov.

Prospective students interested in this program should apply for admissions to the University of Delaware and indicate their choice of the AA program in Georgetown with an interest in the ETE major.

Successful completion of this 62 credit degree with a minimum GPA of 2.6 allows students the option of continuing on with their Bachelor of Science in Education Degree at the University of Delaware/Milford Professional Development School in Milford, or moving to the Newark campus to complete their degree.

Students pursuing the Associate in Arts degree take their courses according to this two-year course sequence.
