Choosing a Concentration

Elementary Teacher Education (ETE) students choose one of the following concentrations for their program of study:

The course EDUC 100 Introduction to Elementary and Middle School Education provides students with the opportunity to learn about the requirements of the concentrations.

ETE students can change their mind about their concentration at any point until they apply for Upper Division Clearance at the end of their sophomore year. If students plan to switch to the special education concentration, then they will need to contact Vickie Lucas to check if seats are available in the concentration. If seats are available, then see the Special Education page for more details about the application process.
