Transfer Coursework

Students may choose to take classes at other institutions during the winter or summer breaks between the fall and spring semesters. The procedure to do so is as follows:

  1. Obtain a course description of the course you wish to take from the college or university at which you plan to take it. You can print this off of a web site or have the institution send you a course description booklet.
  2. Take the description to the University Transfer Center located in the Student Services Center at 30 Lovett Avenue (302-831-1551).
  3. Obtain signature for approval of the course on a transfer form that they will give you. If the University Transfer Center cannot approve the course, they will send you to the department for approval. For example, if it is a geography course, they may send you to the geography department for approval.
  4. After you have obtained the correct approval signature, bring the form to WHL 120 for department approval. The form will then be signed and forwarded to the CHEP Office of Student Services for yet another signature and then forwarded back to the University Transfer Center.
  5. Once you have obtained department approval, you may sign up for the other course at the other institution.
  6. Make sure to have an official transcript sent to UD upon completing all requirements for the course at the other college or university.
