Welcome to the School of Education at the University of
Delaware. The School of Education is home to two undergraduate majors – Elementary
Teacher Education and Educational Studies.
Our Bachelor of Science in Elementary Teacher Education
program provides an excellent preparation for you as you embark upon
your educational journey to become a certified elementary, middle-school
and/or special education teacher. Students participate in field experiences
in school settings beginning in the freshman year and continue practical
experience which culminates in a full semester of student teaching during
their senior year. In addition, this program is a dual certification
program which enhances graduates’ employability.
The Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies program is designed for
those students who want to study education as a discipline as part of
a liberal arts education. This program does not lead to certification
as a classroom teacher. Students in this program are often interested
in graduate school and educational research opportunities, as well as
other education-related careers.
We are confident that you will find
your experience with the School of Education rewarding and that you
will develop into an outstanding educator. Your college career is a
time to explore new ideas, to meet new friends and to grow both intellectually
and socially in ways that will influence your entire life. Please continue
to explore or web site and feel free to call our Office of Undergraduate
Services if you have further questions regarding our undergraduate
programs (302-831-2317).
