WELCOME NEW SCHOOL OF EDUCATION STUDENTS

In early September there will be a series of orientations for new School of Education graduate students. All students are required to attend one of the following sessions:

• Full Time Students: Tuesday, September 2nd from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at 116 Willard Hall
• Part Time Students: Friday, September 5th from 4:30 - 6:00 pm at 116 Willard Hall

Orientation for Ed.D. students will be during the first hour of your EDUC 824 class which is required for all first semester EdD students.

• Ed.D. Administration and Policy Students: Tuesday, September 9th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm in 202 Smith Hall
• Ed.D. Curriculum, Technology, and Higher Education: Wednesday, September 10th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm in 201 Smith Hall

It is very important that you attend orientation as your program check-sheets will be distributed at these meetings. At these meetings you will also receive your UD Catalog and you specific academic program requirements, be introduced to some of the School's faculty and staff, and meet your new colleagues.

Please join other new students along with faculty and staff on Tuesday, September 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Handloff Park on the corner of Barksdale Road and Casho Mill Road in Newark, DE.

There will be food and drink and lively converstaion for all! We hope to see you there!

GRADUATING IN DECEMBER 2008?

If you are planning to graduate in December 2008 here are a few important deadlines:

• The application for Advanced Degree is due on Monday, Septemer 15th in 113 Willard Hall.

• the deadline to submit final copies of Doctoral Dissertations and Executive Position Papers to the graduate Office is Monday, November 10th.

• The deadline for submitting Master's theses is Monday, November 17th.

THE EDUCATION GRADUATE ASSOCIATION PRESENTS BROWN BAG LUNCHES:

The Education Graduate Association (EGA) will be sponsoring a series of Brown Bag Lunches. They will consist of talks and panels on both social and academic topics. Some practical and intriguing topics are lined up, but more ideas and suggestions on possible topics for this semester and next are welcome. If there is anything about the world of graduate studenthood that you are curious and want to learn more about, please email Wilkey Wong at wxwong@UDel.Edu with suggestions.
