a dim view of what genomic technology will do to humanity.
Task: To what extent does the account of genomics in
the Economist’s Survey (the first
reading) support, contradict, or simply remain silent on Kass’s
most central concerns? Be sure to specify what Kass’s
key concerns are.
Advice: Read between the lines of what the authors say. Don't
accept only the surface impressions or just repeat what they say. Probe
what they really mean and want you to think.
