Writing assignment:
· Today enhancements like HGH and anabolic steroids are considered unfair and are banned in all sports since they give an athlete an unfair advantage and may be dangerous. Future technology may not have the harmful effects of today’s PED’s while still raising the level of play. Let’s say that you have the opportunity to make yourself a better athlete through some kind of new medical technology. Ignoring cost, would you do it? (Please explain.) Would you support the use of such technology in sports leagues since it would probably make sports more entertaining? Try to avoid trite arguments like “playing god” and just stating that it isn’t natural.
· Be prepared to talk about genetic enhancements in general, not just as they apply to athletes.
