· “Can DNA demand a verdict?”—read for Stephanie’s presentation

· DNA forensics (Human Genome Project website)—more background on the topic

· Online video: Eye of the Donkey animation of PCR method (~15 minutes). When you get to the “crime scene” portion of the video, you will need to click on the evidence to collect it. It continues in that mode from there as you begin to “analyze” the evidence.

· Please take notes on the PCR method as described in the video. You will need to refer to them in completing an exercise in class.

Thinking assignment:

· What are the most crucial ethical questions raised by DNA forensics? Do you see them as more serious than for other forensic technologies—why or why not?
