All the information you need to know about Kosher Dining at the University of Delaware is detailed below. This year there have been a few changes to the kosher options available with several new items now available for purchase in the three campus markets.

Dining Services

  • Dining Halls
    Kosher frozen meals are available upon request. Meals are rethermalized in dedicated koshered microwaves. Meals include a meat, starch and vegetable. Vegetarian options are also available. Students may supplement these meals with other dining hall offerings (i.e., fresh fruit, beverages, etc.) Payment: meal, points, UD1 FLEX, or cash.

  • Campus Markets
    A variety of kosher items are available including soups, noodle and rice bowls, and vegetarian chicken strips. Payment: points, UD1 FLEX or cash.

  • Holidays
    Dining Services supports kosher meals at Hillel at the University of Delaware for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Passover. Payment: Rosh Hashanah - points, UD1 FLEX or cash: Yom Kippur - points, FLEX or cash: Passover - meal, points, UD1 FLEX or cash.

Hillel at the University of Delaware

  • Kosher meals are available every Friday night and a bagel brunch is served every Sunday at noon.
    Payment: no charge.
  • Many programs provide kosher foods throughout the year.
  • Kosher meals are available for Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Passover.
    Payment for Rosh Hashanah: points, UD1 FLEX or cash
    Payment for Yom Kippur: points, UD1 FLEX or cash
    Payment for Passover: meals, points, UD1 FLEX or cash.

The Chabad Center for Jewish Life

  • Kosher meals are available every holiday and Shabbat. Supervision is provided by Rabbi Sneiderman. Payment: contributions are accepted.
  • Many programs provide kosher foods throughout the year.

Student Housing

  • Apartments in the Christiana Towers can be koshered. The number of apartments will be designated based upon demand from students. The standard room rate for Christiana Towers applies.

Area Retailers

  • Shop-Rite Brandywine Commons
    Shop-Rite has a kosher delicatessen and bakery under supervision of the Va'ad HaKashrut of Delaware.

  • Cold Stone Creamery
    All products manufactured and sold are approved by the Va'ad HaKashruth of Delaware
