Charoenkwan is a fourth-year graduate student, with a B.Sc. in chemistry with Honors from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. She is using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) to study electron transfer kinetics. She has used this technique to study one-electron transfer systems in nonaqueous solvents. It was found that EIS works well when the electron transfer reaction occurs rapidly, which is hard to determine by using Cyclic Voltammetry (CV). In the future, Charoenkwan plans to use EIS to examine systems with inverted-potentials (E^o₂ is positive of E^o₁). She expects that EIS will be a better technique than Cyclic Voltammetry to study systems where inverted potential occur.
