As an unrestricted source of income to support the University's most urgent priorities, the UD Initiative Fund helps the University meet the challenges and opportunities of providing a quality education.

Alumni and friends are a vital part of the College of Engineering and we strongly encourage you to stay in touch and become involved. Join the many alumni and friends who currently provide valuable annual financial support as partners in meeting our educational goals and objectives. You can designate your support to the College of Engineering, a specific engineering department/discipline or program (e.g. RISE or Women in Engineering).  Consider having your company sponsor a scholarship, internship, Honors Day award, or senior design project, and connect them with the UD Career Services Center so they can provide employment opportunities for our students. Other support opportunities are available through a gift to the College of Engineering Alumni Professorship Fund, or support our more than 500 engineering graduate students.

The College of Human Services, Education and Public Policy (CHEP) fosters responsible, effective, and socially concerned scholars and professionals who are committed to addressing the most pressing challenges of our time - those effecting families, the environment, consumers and our public policies.  CHEP scholarships and/or graduate assistantships are a great way to help ensure that students are able to realize their dreams of attaining higher education in our competitively ranked programs.  Your gift towards scholarships and/or fellowships can make a direct and immediate impact on the life of a promising student in need.

It has been an extremely successful season for University of Delaware Athletics. In order to continue our winning tradition both in the classroom and on the playing field, the athletics program needs increased support for scholarships to attract the best student athletes, for facilities in which those student athletes can practice and train, and for operating budgets to sustain the high-quality sports programs that Delaware alumni and fans have come to expect. Faculty and staff of the College of Health Sciences continue their mission of providing leadership in health and clinical education, research, and service. The ongoing need for skilled medical technicians and nurses, as well as the increased interest in sport management and nutrition careers, continue to yield high numbers of applicants to College of Health Sciences. Your monetary support allows us to provide efficient equipment and laboratories to keep pace with continually changing technology. The newly renovated Human Performance Lab provides a high-tech setting for ongoing research and testing. The College of Arts and Sciences is the academic home to half of the University of Delaware' s students and alumni. The College serves all of our University undergraduates through general education courses, electives and many special programs which exemplify the broad mission of the College. The College seeks to provide every student a transformational experience. To that end, in addition to strong major programs, the College actively promotes student participation in service learning, undergraduate research, study abroad, internships, interdisciplinary programs and problembased learning. Your gifts directed to the College of Arts and Sciences/Dean' s Transformation Fund or to any of our specific departments or programs will increase our ability to provide students with these academic enrichment opportunities.

The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources' faculty, students, scientists and Extension educators work together to improve the quality of life for all people. Our graduates leave prepared with the skills needed to contribute to society in fields such as veterinary medicine, environmental preservation, poultry health research, production agriculture, business, soil remediation, landscape design, economics, water quality, food safety and packaging, and so much more. The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources welcomes support for undergraduate scholarships, graduate fellowships, faculty professorships and research funding.

As the most significant resource for scholarship and research, the Library is the center of the academic community, providing print, electronic and rare materials and related services that are used constantly by students, faculty and staff. Contributions help ensure the Library' s continued presence as the chief academic resource of the UD community and a leader in bringing electronic information resources to users.

Gifts to the Library will help ensure that the students, faculty and staff have access to the most extensive electronic research resources and unique special collections for education and research.

The College of Marine and Earth Studies (CMES) is a national leader in educating marine and earth scientists, marine policy specialists, and the general public. With opportunities to work with faculty, perform independent research, and acquire critical field experience, CMES students gain knowledge and make discoveries that deepen their understanding of our planet and prepare them to tackle the complex challenges they will face as global stewards. Your gift will support student scholarships and fellowships, faculty professorships, and new research initiatives. Contributions can be directed specifically to any CMES program or to the Dean's office in support of the college as a whole.

Today' s financial markets demand individuals who can understand, design and trade complex financial instruments. To address this demand, the Lerner College is developing a new facility - an advanced, high-tech simulated trading center with financial markets applications, real-time market data, accounting databases, information systems tools, and market research applications. The Lerner College primary objective is to increase the quality of academic programs by enabling students to experience the professional applications of the industry and empower faculty with high-tech teaching tools. This discoverybased learning center will help the Lerner College stay current with the fast-paced world of financial markets.
