The University of Delaware professional education unit is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education until 2011.  In fall 2010, a team of colleagues from institutions like the University will visit campus to reassess the quality of UD’s professional education programs.  The professional education unit expects to earn continuing accreditation.                  Those University of Delaware’s professional education programs that lead to certification have Delaware Department of Education approval.  In addition, UD’s professional education programs are nationally recognized by the appropriate Specialty Program Association.
