Class Instructors

  • Classes are taught by team members who have been instructed by a prominent local dance studio that employs nationally ranked dance professionals.
  • Instructors have a minimum of two years competition and teaching experience.
  • All instructors encourage a friendly and fun environment and allow you to progress at your own pace.
  • Lessons are offered at a modest fee.
Basic beginning steps will be taught in the Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha Cha, Rumba, Salsa, Tango, and Swing. No dance experience required.

Starting Dates

Second summer session begins Tuesday, July 17th (6 weeks)

Classes will meet in the Carpenter Sports Building located north of Main Street (enter from North College Avenue).

NOTE: this is NOT the Bob Carpenter Center which is located south of Delaware Stadium.


Class Times

Each class is 50 minutes per week. If you are unable to attend one of your scheduled classes, you may attend one of the other scheduled classes.

Please arrive 15 minutes early on the first day of class to complete registration forms and make your payment.

    BEGINNER - For those who have no dance experience or need a refresher

    INTERMEDIATE - A review of basic steps plus new steps introduced

    ADVANCED - Focus is on technique and style with introduction of new steps.


    Prices

    University of Delaware students may have their dance fees billed to their student account by writing their student identification number on the registration form or you can pay by cash or check (made payable to the University of Delaware).

    Payment for all others is required by cash or check (made payable to the University of Delaware) on the first day of class. Partial payments are not accepted.

    Six-week session prices are:

    • $30 for full-time students
    • $45 for non-students

    • NO REFUNDS


    Private Lessons

    Private 50-minute lessons are available at $50 per lesson.

    Where To Go and What to Wear

    All classes will meet in Pearson Gym (unless otherwise noted) located on the corner of Academy and Lovett Streets. Parking is conveniently located in the parking lot adjacent to the building.

    The location of private dance lessons will be determined by the instructor.

    Dress comfortably.


    Cancellations & Missed Classes

    In case of cancellation, a message will be forwarded to you at the email address you provide. If you do not have an email address, call (302) 456-0983 to check on the status of your class.

    If you are unable to attend one of your scheduled classes, you may attend one of the other scheduled classes.
